Al Habtoor Motors has confirmed plans to build a US$95 million warehousing and distribution centre in Dubai Industrial City.

The company, which is the exclusive UAE dealer for Bentley, Aston Martin and Mitsubishi vehicles, has reserved a plot of land measuring three million square feet at Dubai Industrial City's transport zone.

"The all-inclusive complex will meet our operational needs and ensure the delivery of world class services. It will also meet our customers' requirements and reflect the superiority of the brands we represent," he added.

The facility, which is scheduled to commence operations by the second half of 2009, will include a pre-delivery inspection centre, a spare-parts warehouse and distribution centre, a Mitsubishi vehicle centre, a vehicle storage facility and a number of workshops.

"Dubai Industrial City offers the best environment and top of the range facilities for the automotive industry at the transport zone," said Rashed Al Ansari, chief executive officer of Dubai Industrial City.

"The Al Habtoor centre will further strengthen our status as a key destination for manufacturing units. As more businesses choose Dubai Industrial City for their core activities, we anticipate an increase in the manufacturing of value added products within the free zone. In addition, regional economic expansion will add further momentum to the consolidation of Dubai Industrial City as a prime location for commercial activities," he added.
