UAE-based System Construct has won the US $34.5 million (AED127 million) main const-ruction contract for Indigo Properties' Indigo Central project in Dubai.
The company will construct eight buildings, which will include retail and office space.
It will also have overall responsibility for the entire project's construction, which will be built in two phases.
Shoring work, which began in September, is being carried out by SS Lootah Contracting Company.
Located at Al Safa and Al Manara, on either side of interchange three on Sheikh Zayed Road, Indigo Central's eight buildings will range in size from 3,623m2 to 4,830m2. Completion is expected in December 2008.
"With its distinctive design, excellent location and quality of build, we are confident that these low-rise developments will become not only new landmarks along the Sheikh Zayed Road, but also one of Dubai's prime developments," said Indigo Properties director, Sunil Khubchandani.
"We are delighted to be working with System Construct to deliver this vision."
Indigo Properties recently announced construction on two developments in the Central Business District of International City - Indigo Optima 1 and 2.
