The Mohammad Al-Mojil Group (MMG), a specialist contractor focusing in managing the construction of onshore and offshore oil and gas and petrochemicals projects in Saudi Arabia, announced that it has been awarded "Construction Partner of the Year 2007" by Samsung Engineering.
The award, which is given to one of Samsung's construction and engineering partners from around the world each year, has been presented to Mohammad Al-Mojil Group in recognition of being "the best quality and performance partner" for 2007.
Fahad Ali Al-Raqtan, managing director of MMG group commented on the award, "this award means another gold star on the company's back. We were not expecting anything less, as we are determined to be one of the best competitors when it comes to performance."
"We were among the first companies to gain the ISO certificate - we launched from a very, very solid foundation in Saudi Arabia and we will continue to be successful as well as develop ourselves," he added.
Mohammad Al-Mojil Group was appointed by Samsung Engineering in March 2006 to provide civil, mechanical and erection works on the SHARQ expansion project, which will be fully completed by December 2007.
"We are highly satisfied with the performance and trustful partnership of Mohammad Al-Mojil Group shown to us for this demanding project, SHARQ 3rd expansion project, EG Plant. In addition, Samsung Engineering is always evaluating methods to be the most reliable EPC Contractor to client and construction partners in Saudi Arabia," said S. Kang vice president and resident director of Samsung Engineering Saudi Arabia.
The SHARQ expansion project will add a total capacity of 2.8 million tones per annum to Sabic's total output and at the same time enhance SHARQ's position as the world's single largest producer of ethylene glycol.
"We are growing rapidly in both directions, horizontal and vertical - and we hope to be the second if not the first oil and gas construction company not only in Saudi Arabia but across the region also," added Al-Raqtan.
