Festival Centre - the waterfront retail resort at the heart of Dubai Festival City - is set to host the ESPN X Games Dubai next month.

The 2007 X Games, which will be held from 6-8 December, will be the first to offer medals and prize money to winning competitors.

The X Games will include extreme sporting events, such as skateboarding, inline skating and BMX competitions, and feature international sports athletes from the UAE, United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany and Sweden.

"The X Games is a riveting sports event and we are thrilled to be hosting it at Dubai Festival City for the first time," said Tom Miles, senior general manager retail, Dubai Festival City. "We are looking forward to a successful Dubai X Games and we are delighted to be able to bring the action and excitement straight to our guests."

This will be the third time ESPN has brought the X Games to the UAE. Last year's event attracted more than 27,000 action sports enthusiasts.
