With a presence in 17 countries globally, Emaar has developments either completed or underway in Algeria, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UK, USA, Canada, Tunisia, France and Italy.

Last week the property giant added Libya to the growing list of countries that will host its impressive developments, saying that the masterplan for the project there will be the biggest in its $100 billion portfolio.

Emaar has also teamed up with Giorgio Armani S.p.A to build and manage 10 Armani hotels and resorts across the world; an Armani hotel will feature in Emaar's flagship Burj Dubai tower and other locations will include Milan, London, Shanghai, New York and Tokyo, their website says.

Among Emaar's other notable projects is King Abdullah Economic City, the largest private sector investment in Saudi Arabia, and the Burj Dubai complex, which includes the world's tallest tower.

In its hometown of Dubai, Emaar boasts an extensive portfolio of development and a rapidly growing tenant base with more than 15,000 homes in areas like the world famous Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches, Emirates Hills, The Meadows, The Springs, The Greens, The Lakes and The Views.

Emaar have announced plans to float the company on the London Stock Exchange next year in a listing that could value the company at up to $40 billion.
