Pro audio distribution and rental company AMB Group provided nightclub venue operators with a sneak preview of the Funktion One Dance Stack sound reinforcement system in Dubai last month.
The Dance Stack system is designed specifically for club environments and has already seen action in some of the world's top nightclub venues including Jimmy Woo's in Amsterdam and Space in Ibiza. Funktion One lists Carl Cox, Massive Attack, Leftfield and Faithless among its users.
Speaker designer and company founder Tony Andrews said: "I've visited many clubs over the years and it's rare that you'll find a venue that is kitted out with the appropriate sound system. The Dance Stack system is specifically designed for these environments.
"A couple of months after we installed the system in Privilege in Ibiza, the venue operators told us that they'd received a hugely positive response from clubbers, who were also staying in the club longer than previously."
The Dance Stack comprises five speaker units supplying sub bass, bass, mid and high frequency components. Andrews claimed the system boasted a number of advantages over rival technologies in the marketplace.
"The way the speaker is designed still allows for high outputs but the frequencies don't cause damage to people's hearing. When punters walk away from a club without ringing in the ears, we know we've succeeded."
Speaking at the preview event, Peter James, general manager of AMB group's projects and rental division, said the company expected to begin offering Dance Stack systems for sale and hire in the UAE before the end of the year.
