Rezidor launches Park Inn brand

The Rezidor Hotel Group has launched its new mid-market hotel brand in Sharm El Sheikh Egypt.

The Park Inn Sharm El Sheikh, formerly the Golden Resort by Rezidor, is the first in the Park Inn portfolio. It is situated in the Nabq Bay area and offers two bars, two restaurants and an additional 203 rooms, making a total of 401.

"Sharm El Sheikh is one of the most accessible and developed tourist resort communities in Egypt and we believe there was a need for an internationally branded efficient and hassle-free property to cater to the mid-market segment," said Jean-Marc Busato, area vice president, The Rezidor Hotel Group.

Rezidor has also opened the Aqua Bast aqua park at the resort, offering six swimming pools, slides, a lazy river and a wave pool.

The hotel group plans to open two Park Inn properties in Saudi Arabia - Al Khobar in and Olaya - as well as one in Muscat, Oman by 2010.
