Boston Whaler 345 Conquest

New boats hitting dealers' books, from around the world.

Boston Whaler 345 Conquest

Launched earlier this year, Boston Whaler's new 345 Conquest is the biggest Unibond outboard Whaler yet, providing an unsinkable platform for deep-water fishing and comfortable cruising. The unsinkable construction is created through Unibond foam placed between two walls of fibreglass, which provides unsurpassed level flotation along with structural support, sound and vibration absorption and is backed by a ten-year transferable hull warranty. This flagship model comes as standard with dual 275 CXL DTS Mercury Verado four-stroke outboards, with triple 250 Verados as optional, which are integrated with the new Mercury Smartcraft Vessel View to display engine and vessel information on an LCD screen.

Looking after those on deck with an integrated hardtop and windshield around the centre helm, the console offers a large mounting surface for wide-screen electronics. The driver, along with those seated in the cockpit, can stay cool thanks to the standard cockpit air conditioner. Both the adjustable helm seat and companion seat, with a convenient side-to-side slide for added maneuverability in and out of the helm area, have molded footrests for bracing at speed. A lounger to port and a hideaway bench offers seating that can be folded away to provide more room when fishing.

Fully rigged and ready to fish, the 345CQ has four gunnel-mounted stainless steel rod holders and three rod holders mounted in the transom. Cockpit coaming bolsters provide comfort when reeling in that big catch, while the bait prep and area doubles as a place not only to prepare bait, but can also be use for entertaining later on. Other fishing features include a 151-litre livewell with raw water fill, light and cutting board, tackle drawers, raw-water washdown, and two in-deck fish boxes with pump-out.

Large enough to comfortably sleep six, the cabin is no ‘fishermen only' affair, with an island berth that has two spacious drawers located in the base, while the forward end of the island berth is powered to lift for comfortable, upright reading or easy television viewing. Providing comfortable U-shaped seating for up to three people, by lowering the wood grain galley table, more sleeping space can be found by creating a double berth mid-cabin. Audiovisual needs down below are more than catered for by the JL Audio system, Clarion stereo and flatscreen TV with DVD player. Set into a solid counter, the galley provides a standard double burner electric stove, microwave and coffee maker combination unit.
