SS Lootah Asia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UAE-based SS Lootah Group, has joined the global Sustainable Construction Group with the aim of developing sustainable projects in India.
It made the announcement last week at Cityscape India.
The SCG is an alliance of worldwide companies which has a combined portfolio of projects worth US $20 billion.
Yahya Lootah, vice chairman, SS Lootah Group, said that the group's focus will be on developing green buildings in India and the initiative will be spearheaded by SCG, which is the largest group of its kind in the private sector sustainable construction domain, with 22 experts specialised in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
SCG is made up of companies including ZAS-PSE, TROW, HH Angus, Lootah-Vanbots, State Group International, TAS Designbuild and NCK Engineering.
Each company has specialised international expertise ranging from architecture and design to engineering consultancy, MEP, infrastructure and construction.
SS Lootah Group, which has varied investment interests across several sectors in the UAE, Asia, Africa and Europe, announced its foray into India earlier this year through SS Lootah Asia, which will drive investments into key growth sectors of the Indian economy.
