"We met the contractor at GulfBid two years ago and we are very pleased this deal has come through after this time."

Douglas was unable to disclose the identity of the contractor or the hotel.

The deal, signed on Monday, means Alomi will supply $1 million worth of lapacho (Brazilian walnut) decking for the swimming pool areas of the hotel, with all the wood supplied from sustainable, renewable sources.

This follows a similar success made by the company at Index last month to provide decking for areas of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Saudi Arabia, also worth a potential $1 million.

Douglas said that Alomi is enjoying a period of growth and hinted that the company provisionally thinking of opening another office in Saudi Arabia, in light of numerous leads from the KAEC deal.
