by Alison Luke on Monday, 03 December 2007
Emirates Trading Agency (ETA) M&E Division has been named MEP Contractor of the Year in the 2007 Construction Week Awards.
This is the second consecutive year in which ETA has won the award. The firm was presented with the trophy at a gala dinner held in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai on 26 November.
The award category was open to MEP contractors operating throughout the GCC. Firms were asked to provide evidence of exceptional performance in the execution of their projects and successful coordination with main contractors.
ETA won the award for its work on the Wafi City District Cooling DCCP 1 project, which was certified with a US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Rating in January 2007. Bahrain-based EMCO was highly commended by the Construction Week Awards judges for its work on the Bahrain World Trade Centre.
Other winners in the 2007 Construction Week Awards included Oman-based Bahwan Engineering Company, which was named as FM Service Provider of the Year for its diversified contracts ranging from power and wastewater plants to real estate projects. Nakheel was named 2007 Developer of the Year.
