Dubai welcomes new tea in town

One of the Gold medal winning Newby Teas.

Newby Teas (UK) Limited, which launched its teas in Dubai in January 2007, has announced its new range of luxury teas, organics and aromatics, now available in the UAE.

There are over 130 teas and tisanes in Newby's range, including roobios teas, and Newby products are currently served in some of the world's most famous hotels and restaurants. The company has a rapidly expanding international retail presence.

Newby recently won three Gold medals at the Great Taste Awards 2007, in the single estate and blended loose leaf tea categories.

Newby was awarded two star Gold medals for its Imperial Annapurna Green and Finest Green Sencha, and a Gold one star for Jasmine Blossom.

Newby's Imperial Annapurna Green has a clean, twisted leaf and is produced as a green tea in small lots, using old fashioned techniques, and grown by a traditional, independent tea garden in Nepal. The tea is always packed and transported in traditional tea chests to protect the leafs' appearance.

The tea from this region shares many of the characteristics of Darjeeling-the flavour of muscatel grapes and body in the cup-at the same time maintaining a smooth character.

Green Sencha has needle-like, shiny, dark green leaves and is a spring production sencha tea which gives a bright infusion of light green and a smooth rice aftertaste.

Jasmine Blossom is superior grade, China green tea infused with fragrant jasmin blossom to give a bright, light yellow liquor and floral aroma.
