Terex hits PMV expo

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Tuesday, 27 November 2007
Brad Abrahams, divisional sales manager, Terex, demonstrates the capabilities of his new power buggies.

Terex Genie, part of the US-based Terex Group and a specialist in material lifting and handling equipment, this week introduced Big 5 PMV to its latest products: the Power Buggies PB 16 and PB 21.

The company is appearing at the exhibition after establishing its regional presence in February in Dubai.

"Our power buggies have received a lot of interest here at the show, yesterday in particular. They are very versatile machines for loading and moving soil," said Brad Abrahams, divisional sales manager Middle East, Terex.

In addition to the power buggies, Terex Genie also had its range of people lifting equipment on display.

Said to be a popular model in the region, the GTH-4017 high- reach rough terrain telehandler, part of the Genie 14 strong model range, has a maximum lifting height of 16.73 meters, and a 4,000 kg lifting capacity.

"Genie has a line of area work platforms, and we're a leading manufacturer of scissors and booms lifting people at various heights. This puts us in a good position as we're currently experiencing a very strong demand for those products because of the level of construction going on in the region," said Abrahams.

Abrahams added: "We're experiencing strong growth, very fast. First established in 1966, and selling to 220 countries in total, we have offices all over the world.

"Although we have been selling in the region since 1982, this is the first time we have set an office up out here and we're planning to expand. We're here to offer the full service to our customers, not just to sell a product, and we're definitely here to stay."
