In a bid to cover important religious events held at its premises, the Dubai Mosque in Bur Dubai has contracted Al Futtaim Panatech to put in place a turnkey broadcast solution. The US $24,000 project is scheduled for completion next month.

The project will see the installation of several Panasonic solutions at the venue including seven broadcast pan-and-tilt cameras, 19 42" plasma screens, and six DLT projectors with motorised lifts. Also included in this project are 21 security cameras, a Final Cut Pro editing system and a Panasonic AV HDX 200 camera for ENG operations.

"The Dubai Mosque often hosts religious events on special days," stated Hassan Ali, project sales manager, Al Futtaim Panatech. "The committee that is in charge of the mosque felt there was a need for a solution to record and edit events that they could then supply to local TV stations for broadcast."

The installation will be completed in two phases. Phase one will see the installation of a comprehensive audio system, including Teavy sound systems, amplifiers, speakers, mics and equalizers. Phase two will include the installation of the Panasonic cameras and editing solutions.

The Mosque's committee plans to hire a small team of specialists to operate the system once the installation is complete. The team will be trained by Al Futtaim Panatech.
