Dubai-based media company Taj TV is replacing its existing production and playout systems with Harris equipment. The US $1million project will see Taj TV replace its Quantel and Seachange playout systems with Nexio servers from Harris. The project is slated for completion this month.
"We are upgrading the D-series system to the new version of the series," stated Said Bacho, managing director of Harris Middle East. "Taj TV has also invested in a Velocity NX- NLE for their editing needs. These solutions are all SD/HD so when Taj TV is ready to migrate to HD, the switch can be easily done," he added.
One of the main challenges of putting this system together was to ensure the new products could be integrated into the existing workflow, stated Bacho. "The challenge has been to integrate our systems with Taj TV's existing workflow, which includes products from other vendors."
Training and commissioning for the project will be completed at the end of this month.
