Sany planning 66m pump for next year

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Wednesday, 28 November 2007

Sany showed a 60-metre pump at Big 5 PMV and hopes to launch an even larger pump next year at 66m.

Covering a large area of the show, the company spoke about its success in the region despite being in operation for only four years.

"All the concrete manufacturers are our major clients: Dhabi contracting, Tremix and FNCT are a few and they are all happy to work with Sany products.

Our products are shipped over from China where we take components from all over the world and assemble them in a plant there.

The time scale can vary, usually looking at 6 to 8 weeks from when the order is placed to delivery of the goods," said Paul Austin-Price, deputy general manager, Sany.

The company, formed in 1994, is a specialist in heavy industry products.

"We worked extremely hard to introduce Sany products in to the market.

It was a Chinese product, and some products, unfortunately, do come with a certain poor reputation," said Austin-Price.

"However, in those years we have grown from strength to strength competing against the larger German manufacturers of such equipment."

Sany plans to concentrate on the UAE market for now, with ‘placing booms' being its most popular product.
