Fine reaches out to supermarket shoppers with SMS competition ‘reward’
by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Tuesday, 04 December 2007
Hygienic paper manufacturer Fine has joined forces with Etisalat to roll out a new mobile marketing campaign for shoppers.
The company has attached its SMS to Win with Fine promotion on its facial tissue and toilet roll packaging, with prizes including LCD TVs, Playstation 2 consoles, DVD players and Micro Vault USB drives. "Aggressive in-store activity" and radio campaigns have also been developed to bolster awareness.
"This SMS promotion is an additional reward that we would like to offer to our loyal customer base, and simultaneously we would like to encourage first time users to try our brand and benefit from our SteriPro feature that guarantees a germ-free tissue," said Peter Janho, chief area officer for Arabian Peninsula and Iran, Fine.
Consumers are encouraged to enter the draw by sending the answer to a question via SMS. The competition will run until January 6, with draws scheduled for December 10 and January 6. Winners will, incidentally, be notified by SMS.
