i-mate Ultimate hits stores

i-mate Ultimate 8150 and 6150

i-mate has finally shipped its new Ultimate mobile phone range to stores in the region.

The Windows Mobile based-handsets, which i-mate claims are thirty times more powerful than the iPhone, are available from retailers in the Middle East now.

The Ultimate range includes two handsets, the PDA-form factor 6150 and the 8150 which combines PDA form factor with keypad. Both phones are powered by 520 MHz Intel PXA processors, with Quad-Band GSM/EDGE, Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA and WiFi 802.11b/g/e/i connectivity.

The handsets are targeted at high-end business users, with features such as HSDPA, Direct XGA video out and support for Microsoft Direct Push Technology, to improve communications and functionality on the move.

Jack Craine, General Manager MEA and India at i-mate said: "There has been a lot of anticipation amongst our customers, channel partners and followers for the top-of-the-range Ultimate products. With renewed focus on our home in the Middle East, and our commitment to our valuable retail partners established over the past five years as leaders in the touch screen category, we expect the Ultimate devices will now set a new standard in mobile handset technology and become the phone of choice for the discerning consumer."

The phones are available from Plug-ins electronics, Virgin Megastores, Compume, Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Sharaf DG, Axiom, Fono and RadioShack.
