Delegates are dead keen on Kempinski’s Jordan property

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Tuesday, 11 December 2007

The Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea has opened a new conference centre to cash in on the increasing number of Meetings Industry visitors planning events in Jordan.

"With the conference facilities up and running, we are in a strong position to accommodate the growing MICE industry in Jordan," said Duncan O'Rourke, regional director and general manager, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea.

"We offer organizers an extensive portfolio of services in a luxurious setting, with extravagant amenities and state-of-the-art technology."

New facilities include an 800 capacity ballroom with digital conferencing and interpretation system, LCD projector, screen and progressive sound system, a 216-seat auditorium with cinema screen, surround speakers, video conferencing and a mobile interpretation system; and 10 break out rooms.

The 318-room property is now focusing on catering to the MICE market with the introduction of bespoke packages and amenities, with a view to positioning itself as one of the leading venues for corporate and social events in the region.

O'Rourke said that he would be working closely with the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre in Amman to help promote Jordan as a venue for major international events as well as an incentive destination.
