Zain Jordan has signed an e-procurement agreement with Tejari, the online B2B marketplace.

The Tejari website will allow Zain Jordan, part of Zain Group, to look for buyers and sellers of goods and services, which will simplify its procurement and purchase processes.

Saad Nasir, CEO of Zain Jordan, said that the agreement with Tejari is in line with the company's commitment towards investing in the most sophisticated technology and making company operations more effective by minimising administrative tasks. Nasir added that using Tejari's e-marketplace services would enable Zain Jordan to obtain competitive prices and improve its market reach both regionally and globally.

An e-marketplace website like Tejari allows its registered users to view information about products they wish to buy or sell and to invite or make electronic bids, spot purchases or contract purchases. The advantage in this kind of system for the consumer is that they get information on how to obtain the product or service they need in time and at the right price. The advantage for vendors is access to information on their customers and their product needs.

With this agreement, Zain Jordan will be able to procure the right products at the right time and open itself to potential new customers and other companies may soon see the advantages of e-procurement, according to Tejari CEO, Omar Hijazi.

"Now that more business leaders in Jordan understand just how rapidly they can benefit from e-procurement, we expect membership levels to rise accordingly. Jordan has tremendous potential for online procurement, given its thriving business community, extensive government focus on technology, telecommunications and impressive Internet penetration levels. Therefore, we are confident that Zain will thrive as a key new member of Tejari's eMarketplace," he said.
