Saudi Arabian Airlines has signed a firm contract for 22 A320 aircraft, Airbus said on Tuesday.
This follows a memorandum of understanding signed at the Dubai Airshow in November, the statement said.
It is the airline’s first order from the European planemaker in more than 20 years.
The deal is worth $1.7 billion at catalogue prices, and allows the airline to increase the order by a further eight of the aircraft.
