Visitor tickets for the January 2008 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship have gone on sale, with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) predicting that more than 25,000 spectators will descend on the European PGA Tour sanctioned event - the highest in the tournament's history.

The third annual event is set to take place at the National Course at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, January 17-20, 2008.

According to the ADTA, which organises the event, spectator demand is being driven by the high profile line up of professional golfers who will be contesting for a share of the US $2 million purse and the chance to take home the coveted ‘Falcon' trophy.

This year's line-up includes: England's Paul Casey - the 2007 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship defending champion; Australian Adam Scott, ranked sixth in the world; Open Champion Padraig Harrington, the world number seven; Scottish maestro Colin Montgomerie; Swedish number one, Henrik Stenson and Luke Donald, the current World number 17.

Peter German, executive tournament director, Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, said: "This tournament has gone from strength-to-strength since its inception in 2006 and this event is no exception. The star studded line-up, the improved course facilities and the tournament's growing recognition on the international stage should see the largest spectator turnout to date."
