Spinneys has opened its new gourmet cuisine-led boutique store at Dubai's Souk Al Bahar.
The retailer opened six new stores this year as part of its ambitious expansion drive, and four new stores are scheduled to open within the first two months of 2008.
In a bid to complement the architectural elegance of the Burj Old Town area, the company's 29th store has incorporated special features into its design including gold mosaic tiles, posters placed within frames, wooden fittings and woven baskets.
The boutique-like ambience is further reinforced in the layout of the store. A significant portion of the 5,600ft² store has been allocated to fresh products, in keeping with the company's approach to offering a ‘fresher experience'.
The company's Market stores were first launched in 2005 to provide the emirate's burgeoning population with convenience stores on their doorsteps.
Jannie Holtzhausen, CEO of Spinneys said the stores were designed to provide freshness, quality and convenience in a capsule format.
"They are located within prime residential areas, with easy access and parking facilities. Our aim is to make the Spinneys shopping experience even more enjoyable and straightforward.
The store features bread "always just out of the oven" from in-house bakers, butchers, a delicatessen and a salad bar.
Spinneys chefs will prepare gourmet dishes at supermarket prices, such as veal orloff, lamb rack with herbs, lamb shoulder stuffed with spinach and feta, beef Wellington, breaded chicken escalopes, and pepper steak.
The new outlet is situated on level 2 of Souk Al Bahar, and will service the busy residential and commercial communities of the Burj Old Town quarter.
