Avaya has announced that its one-X Mobile application now includes support for Apple's iPhone. The announcement marks Avaya as the first vendor to offer support for iPhone on corporate IP-based communications networks.
The one-X Mobile application, which also integrates with BlackBerry, Palm, Java and WAP mobile devices, allows corporate users to use the mobile of their choice to integrate with their corporate communications.
"Workers now have the power of their desk phone in their pocket, plus greater control over managing their time and availability, said Roger El Tawil, channel and marketing director, Avaya MENA. "Inbound calls to their extension can simultaneously ring up to five designated endpoints, so they can take calls where they need to be - in or out of the office, on the road or at home. They can also seamlessly switch from the mobile device to desk phone in mid-call with the push of a button."
The solution is available as part of the Avaya Unified Communications Standard Edition.
