DMC appoints Imdaad

Dubai Maritime City (DMC) has signed a partnership agreement, currently worth US $327,000 (AED1.2m), with Imdaad to provide facilities management services.

Imdaad, previously known as Serco Gulf, will service the recently handed over corporate DMC offices and the causeway linking DMC to the mainland.

"This part of the City has just been handed over to us, it's still under the defect liability period (DLP), so Imdaad will have to liaise with the contractor to make sure everything is as per our requirements," said Emad Al Hati, facilities management, DMC.

Service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are included in an overall contract that will be given to Imdaad for review. This will then be implemented whenever a new building has been handed over.

Al Hati explained that technology would be a vital component to DMC. "Its intention is to install systems like CAFM and BMS to handle information, assets and enable us to closely follow up on the works carried out by Imdaad.

"We're trying to achieve the most advanced systems bu integrating them."

Ali Al Suqaidi, operations head, Imdaad, said: "Imdaad facilities management consultancy had been previously involved in providing FM consultancy services during the design phase of the project. We are again extending our services in the project execution."

On top of the service provision, Al Hati confirmed that Imdaad will also be managing all the sub-contracted work taking place at DMC and working alongside the FM contract manager.
