A US $550 million (OMR220 million) power and desalination plant in Oman was officially opened this week.
The Sohar plant is able to deliver 585mW of electricity and 125 million litres of drinking water a day.
The engineering, procurement and construction of the facility was carried out by Doosan Heavy Industries of South Korea.
Doosan also built the steam generators and the four huge water distillers.
Among the key subcontractors were Siemens for the gas turbines and Alstom for the condensing steam turbine.
Local contractors included BED for the electromechanical installation and Douglas OHI, which built the civil works.
