Palestine-based freelance cameraman, Hanna Abusada, recently invested US $150,000 in a Sony HDW-F900R camera along with additional accessories such as lenses, matte boxes and a tripod system. Abusada is currently using the camera to produce a four-minute promo on Palestine that will be screened at the Eurovision 2008 contest, which will include a Palestinian contestant for the first time. The system was supplied by Star 2000, Sony's local distributor in Palestine.
"This is the first time our country has been represented in this contest so this promo will be shown before the Palestinian candidate comes forward," commented Abusada.
Speaking about the purchase, Firas Ishaq, general manager of Star 2000 added: "Abusada has done a lot of work in the past for National Geographic and Discovery Channel. He thought that investing in a HD camera would improve his business and he was right about that. His camera has been rented out every single day since he bought it."
