Sport4ever.com has launched its annual online voting campaign for the fourth edition of The Best Arab Athlete Awards.
Sports enthusiasts from across the world can vote for their favourite Arab athletes, leagues, teams and sports reporters based on their performances of 2007.
Samer Kamal, sports manager at Maktoob.com, which acquired 80% of Sport4ever.com in April 2006, said: "The great thing about this competition is that it is the community of fans who decide on the best athlete in their favourite category."
Votes can be cast across 18 categories including Best Football Player, Best Basketball player, Top Player in various sports, Best Female Athlete in various sports, Strongest Arab League, Best Arab National Team and Best Arab Club team.
Categories inviting votes for the best Arab sports media include Best Sports Channel, Best Football Commentator, Best Studio Analysis, Best Sports Programme, Best Sports Analyst, Best Sports News Bulletin, Best Sports Correspondent and Best Presenter.
The selection of nominees for different categories will be made based on their achievements in 2007 and results will be periodically aired through Maktoob TV, which will be broadcast on Nile Sat.
Sport4ever.com was launched in 2000 in Saudi Arabia.
