Injazat sets up defence subsidiary

Outsourcing provider Injazat Data Systems has announced plans to launch a subsidiary focused on providing IT solutions to the defence sector.

The subsidiary, Injazat Defence Services will offer a range of solutions for defence and security, including reconnaissance and battlefield intelligence, logistics and training, payroll, pensions and veterans administration.

Injazat Data Systems is a joint venture of IT consultancy company EDS and Mubadala Development Company, and the new subsidiary will draw on EDS expertise in defence sector.

Sir Rob Fry, Vice President and Managing Director for EDS (UK) Defence Services, said: "From our global experience, we recognise and understand many of the needs of the UAE and the region in defence and homeland security. The Injazat business model of using EDS' experience to generate local capabilities has achieved remarkable success and we believe we can repeat this success in the defence and homeland security markets. The time is right to launch Injazat Defence and we are all very excited about supporting this initiative."

Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems said: "As one of the UAE's leading IT services companies, we have developed a solid reputation based on our secure and flexible services that have earned us the respect of governments throughout the region. Our defence subsidiary will capitalise on this reputation and will develop locally world-class expertise to assist the local and regional military and defence organisations meet their needs."
