Cisco CEO opens SAGIA Smart Office

John Chambers today inaugurated a new Smart Office for the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) as part of his ongoing visit to the region.

The Cisco CEO and chairman, along with His Excellency Amr Al Dabbagh, governor and chairman of the board of directors of SAGIA, opened the office at SAGIA's Riyadh headquarters.

The Smart Office is based on Cisco's Connected Real Estate architecture, which combines information, communications and building controls into a single converged network. SAGIA staff will be better connected through the Smart Office, which offers converged communications and data services, along with wireless connectivity and a number of other integrated services.

HE Amr Al Dabbagh commented: "The Cisco next-generation network will enable us to reduce costs and complexity by replacing disparate communications, security, and building systems with one simplified, flexible, and scalable IP network. SAGIA is committed to promoting the incorporation of technology across various sectors in the Kingdom to help businesses enhance productivity and services."

Paul Mountford, president of Cisco Emerging Markets. said: "Saudi Arabia continues to be a pioneer that truly understands the power of harnessing the intelligence of the most advanced technologies and applying them in business solutions for the real estate sector.
