Table for eight

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Tuesday, 12 February 2008
The Aquabay 70 has had input from a large group of industry experts, who have created a very Italian looking design.

Aquybay's new 70 perfect for entertaining in style.

Aquabay 70

Aquabay Yachts in conjunction with TC Yachts has collected a strong and experienced group of designers, naval architects and project managers to build and launch the new Aquabay 70 into the world market. The result is a stylish sports yacht with many features you would expect of larger Mediterranean-styled yachts without the large yacht price tag.

"We wanted to build the best sports yacht possible with an emphasis on stylish design and flexible entertaining space. That is why we chose Peter Lowe as naval architect, Identity Marine Interiors for the interior styling, Tom Cooper Marine as the Project Manager and most importantly, TC Yachts to build it," explains Mick Smith from Aquabay Yachts.

TC Yachts is a Taiwan based yacht builder with a marine heritage dating back to the 1910s. The shipyard has built hundreds of yachts and their track record has made them the elite in one of the world's greatest shipbuilding nations. Now, together with Aquabay Yachts' vision, TC Yachts is moving into semi-production sports yachts.

The brief was to design the Aquabay 70 to be reminiscent of the Italian motor yachts and accommodate great entertaining features. The group worked closely together to achieve a yacht with practical entertaining spaces.

The Aquabay 70 has walk around decks for easy accessibility for both guests and crew. The saloon is large and complete with a retractable sunroof to control the sun and sea breeze. A full bar can be accessed from both the saloon and cockpit and the open galley is located just off the saloon to maximise the entertaining space at deck level.

A dining table has four different configurations depending on requirements - it can be a dining table for eight, a lounge and coffee table, a full-size sunbed or a lounge and sunbed. The Aquabay 70's accommodation can be configured to either four or three cabins plus crew quarters. The owners' cabin includes a private office area as standard.

Perhaps the most striking features are the foredeck's sun lounge for evening cocktails and the retractable awning over the cockpit. This provides two distinct entertaining areas.

The Aquabay 70 also has a full size tender garage for easy stowage. The design of this yacht is matched by safety and strength as she is built to Bureau Veritas / USL 1E and 2C survey and has a maximum speed of 29 knots.

With so many design, engineering and entertaining features, the only thing missing from the Aquabay 70 is the large yacht price tag.
