Al Othaim to open 50 new stores in KSA

Aadham Junaidallah, CIO of Al Othaim Holding said it will open more than 50 stores over the next two years in the Kingdom, and has selected Oracle as its strategic IT vendor.
"Al Othaim Holding requires a proven world-class retail system to achieve our business requirements for profitable growth today and in the future.
"We expect Oracle to support this growth by helping to deliver rapid ROI, improve operational functionality and processes, and ultimately support our customer service."
The Oracle(r) E-Business Suite and Retail applications will deliver a fully integrated retail solution that will serve as the backbone for the grocery chain, in a bid to streamline business processes.
Al Othaim currently operates a total of 75 supermarket, hypermarket, wholesale outlet and convenience stores.
Following a competitive tender, Al Othaim selected the Oracle E-Business Suite and a comprehensive set of Oracle Retail merchandising, planning, supply chain and stores applications. Oracle Retail solutions are designed specifically for retailers, offer a breadth of functionality that supports end-to-end retail processes.
