Over 1000 companies have registered in Dubai Maritime City - a member of the Dubai World group of companies.
The project is currently within its third and final phase of development and when completed will be home to businesses from across the maritime industry, including yacht repair and maintenance companies, lawyers, brokers and maritime education and research providers.
Dubai Maritime City recently finalised the strategic plan for the Marina District element of the project, which will feature hotels, marinas, waterfront retail shops, restaurants and restaurant facilities.
The overall development will also include the Academic Quarter, the Industrial Precint, the Maritime Centre, maritime company offices and a commerce hub.
On completion the project will feature the UAE's first specialized National Maritime Museum as well as an education, training and research institute for maritime science.
"We are confident of doubling the number of businesses registered with us in the near future as we making every effort to respond to the comprehensive needs of the global maritime community," said Amer Ali, CEO of Dubai Maritime City.
Describing the benefits that would be offered to companies setting up there he said: "We also offer exclusive advantages including free zone benefits, no corporate or private tax, proximity to customers and suppliers, potential for business growth in a rapidly developing environment, easy living, easy accessibility, developed port infrastructure, and a convenient time zone between Eastern and Western markets."
