The Nucleotide Complex will allow companies to carry out lab-based research and analysis.

Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park's (DuBiotech's) laboratory buildings, the AED289 million Nucleotide Complex, is due for completion in September this year.

Hailed as the region's first dedicated modern laboratory compound, the Nucleotide Complex will offer space in which companies can carry out research activities.

Consisting of ‘A, C, T and G' wings, the facility has been named after the four basic building blocks of nucleic acids, the main components of genetic material.

The four-storey complex has been designed by CUH2A, a recognised leader in designing facilities for science and technology institutions.

Dr. Abdulqader Alkhayat, executive director, DuBiotech, said: "The Nucleotide Complex demonstrates DuBiotech's serious commitment to developing sustainable buildings that accommodate leading clinical research institutions."

"In conformity with TECOM's overall strategy, the complex is already classified as a LEED certified ‘green' building, reflecting our social and environmental responsibility objectives.

The Nucleotide Complex will allow companies to carry out lab-based research and analysis without the need to build dedicated facilities.

All DuBiotech subsidiary labs at the facility are required to follow GLP and ISO 17025 standards, while all laboratory activities will be regulated by the DuBiotech Regulatory Affairs department.
