Training academy to launch

A much-needed training academy for spa professionals will launch in Ajman in the UAE this April.
Body and Soul Health Clubs has been awarded the licence to run the first ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) courses in the Middle East.
Body and Soul will be setting up a permanent training academy at the Gulf Medical College in Ajman, which is part of the Body & Soul group of businesses.
Courses will include reflexology, hot stone massage and Thai massage.
The company is also building a health club on the site of the college.
Body & Soul general manager Rohun Bevan said: "There just aren't enough properly trained industry professionals to fill vacancies, and companies end up employing people not qualified to do the job.
He added: "The industry needs to raise the bar.
Bevan thinks businesses will invest in sending staff on the courses as their only other option is to send them abroad for training or recruit new staff.
