The Middle East's logistics industry will be placed under the spotlight at the forthcoming Shipping and Logistics Forum 2008, which is being held at Dubai's Habtoor Grand hotel on 19th and 20th February.

The conference will analyse the latest transportation and logistics issues in the Middle East region and the related impact on global shipping and trade. It will feature a range of speakers from companies such as DP World, Dubai Logistics City, Emirates SkyCargo, FedEx and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza).

"This annual gathering will bring together figureheads from the region's shipping and logistics industry to address a number of key issues and discover the latest strategies, solutions and technologies that can be implemented to ensure profitable operations," said Martin Valovsky, general manager of organiser Fleming Gulf.

"The shipping and logistics industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Middle East. When we talk of Dubai, the fact that DP World has been awarded the best seaport in the Middle East for 11 consecutive years now cannot be ignored, hence making the emirate an ideal destination to host such an event," he added.
