Networking software vendor NetApp has taken a big step towards maximising the effectiveness of its channel with the launch of a new authorised professional service partner programme aimed at resellers with membership to its VIP programme.

The authorised service partner programme is intended to help partners improve the productivity of contact centres and facilitate them in offering a higher level and quality of value-added services.

"At the end of the day, our partner community wants to deliver services for their customers that extend our data centre products and solutions," said Leonard Iventosch, VP of global channels at NetApp. "The single most important benefit we can offer partners is the opportunity to simply and effectively get more engaged with our customers. Opening up additional services opportunities is one of the best ways we can make this happen for our most trusted partners."

As part of the programme, participating partners will receive secure access to solution-based service delivery tools, templates, and methodologies used by NetApp Global Services teams. Channel partners that sign up to the programme will also be allowed access to the NetApp Automated Storage Provisioning Engine application, a tool intended to up productivity and customer satisfaction, enabling partners to design, deploy, and document from one source, reducing manual tasks and eliminating margins for error, resulting in customer-quality deployment documentation.

The vendor also recently undertook a major redesigning of its VIP partner programme, which it claimed at the time would give partners the tools they need to effectively sell its solutions.
