Memon Investments has awarded a US $15 million (AED55.5 million) contract for the construction of its Champions Tower II project in Dubai Sports City to Al Sarh Contracting.
Construction on the tower, which has a total value of $30 million, is set to begin in March and has a schedule of 18 months.
Shoring, initial excavation and foundation work was recently completed by Stromek Emirates Foundation (SEF).
The architect and primary project consultant is Eng. Adnan Saffarini.
The 13-storey Champions Tower II will be built over 20,250m2 and will include 174 apartments.
"We were attracted to Al Sarh Contracting's broad industry expertise, solid reputation and history of timely project delivery - all key factors to the successful implementation of this development," said Rizwan Shaikhani, joint managing director, Memon Investments.
"We are confident that Al Sarh will meet our expectations and eventually help us meet the 2010 deadline for the tower's completion.
Al Sarh has completed more than 200 projects in Dubai and throughout the UAE, with its completed and ongoing project portfolio worth around $122 million.
