The Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Deira Creek will host its very own 10-day Scandinavian Food festival from March 3-12.

The festival will feature guest chefs Thorbjørn Thorsen of the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel and Fredrik Lindholm of the Radisson SAS Hotel as well as internationally renowned Norwegian chef Alesund, flying in from Nordic shores especially for the event.

"The festival promises to complement Dubai's growing culinary scene and is set to provide an authentic taste of Scandinavia," said a spokesperson for the Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Deira Creek.

"The secret to what makes Scandinavian food so appealing lies in its cooking purity and its harmony with nature. The dishes reflect the rich harvests yielded by sea, river and lake, the game and fruits of the forests and mountains, as well as the more usual products of farm and market garden," the spokesperson added.

The festival will take place in the Radisson SAS hotel with Scandinavian specialties created by Thorsen and Lindholm being made available to guests in three of the hotels' venues.

"Cooked in a pure form, Scandinavian food originates from as early on as the Vikings era; it is a fact that many of the recipes being used today have been handed down over the years, through folk ballads and stories," a spokesperson for the festival said.

Specialty cuisines created for event include famous salmon preparation, herring and smorre bròd alongside a fresh Scandinavian seafood selection including crab and cod fish.
