US car rental company Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group (DTAG) has announced plans to partner with Egypt's Abou Ghali Group and Morocco's Majestic Limousines in a bid to expand its presence in the MENA region.
It is hoped the partnership with Abou Ghali Group, which currently offers a wide array of services including short-term car rental, chauffeur and long-term leasing, will enhance DTAG's status as "one of the leading car rental organisations in the MENA region" by offering a greater portfolio or products to its clients.
"Egypt is a key market for DTAG given the growth of its tourism and commercial sectors, as well as its large population" said Sam Eltibi, regional director, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, MENA, speaking at the group's annual meeting held recently in Egypt, where a series of business sessions reinforced the relationship between Dollar Thrifty and its Middle East franchisees.
Meanwhile, the company's deal with Morocco's Majestic Limousines is aimed at catering to inbound business and leisure travellers, as well as to the local population in Morocco's most prestigious cities.
"Already a well-established name in the automotive industry in Morocco, Majestic Limousine's understanding of the local market and its reputation are certain to stand us in good position as we venture into this new, untapped market," explained Eltibi.
DTAG has also announced plans to expand in Oman where it will open at least three new outlets by April 2008.
