Fire hits Ministry of Foreign Affairs

BUILDING BLAZE: Fire struck Dubai’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Deira on Tuesday morning.

Fire struck the Dubai’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs early Tuesday morning, forcing the building to be evacuated.

A large number of fire and police personnel attended the blaze, which started in the control room of the building on Al Maktoum Street in Deira at around 8.30am.

Dubai Civil Defence took 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, but there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire, which drew about 100 spectators, is so far unknown.
