Wade Adams secures deals worth $114mn

PACKAGE DEAL: Wade Adams has picked up two contracts worth a combined $114.3mn.

Local roads and infrastructure company, Wade Adams, has picked up two infrastructure contracts worth a combined US $114.3 million (AED 420 million).

The first package, for the third phase of Dubai Industrial City, is worth $58.5 million.

The contract involves all infrastructure work including water and electricity lines, drainage and sewerage, roads and road lighting.

Mobilisation on the project began last week and the contractor has been given 18 months to complete the job.

The consultant on the project is Cansult Maunsell and the project manager is EC Harris.

Dubai Industrial City is spread over 52 million m² of land and features six dedicated manufacturing sectors for machinery and mechanical equipment, transport equipment and parts, base metal, chemicals, food and beverage and mineral products.

It also includes facilities for industries and related sectors such as logistics, assembly and warehousing, vocational training and staff accommodation.

Dubai Industrial City is located next to Al Maktoum International Airport (formerly known as Dubai World Central) in Jebel Ali.

The second contract, worth $55.8 million, is for infrastructure work in the Turfana Riffaa area of Sharjah.

Work involves drainage, cablings works, telephone lines, water works, street lighting, roads and footpaths. Work began last week and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

Sharjah Municipality is the client and Halcrow has been appointed consultant.

Wade Adams is also currently working on a pumping station for Dubai Municipality with a contract value of $163.4 million.
