Dubai-based spa management and consultancy company Spa Resources International (SRI) has entered in a strategic partnership with Hong Kong-based PAUA Group to increase SRI's visibility outside the Middle East.

SRI has purchased a 20% stake in the PAUA Group, which provides services including spa consultancy, spa education and spa product distribution, as well as counting businesses such as The Elemis Day Spa and The Frederique Academy as subsidiary companies.

In addition to boosting SRI's presence outside the Middle East, the partnership is also intended to open a gateway into the established Asian spa market for spa operators in the region.

Director of SRI's parent company Wafi Health and Leisure Daniella Russell said: "The agreement brings together two beacons of the spa industry operating from two of the most prominent financial hubs in the world, Dubai and Hong Kong. The advantages and possibilities it opens out for our distribution networks are enormous."

"Besides the well-established networks, what makes this partnership all the more feasible is the fact that both groups share a common philosophy," she continued.

"Both SRI and the PAUA Group have a strong commitment towards professional, result-driven treatments and the provision of the highest quality of beauty education and distribution services to the industry. This commonality in thought and action will help a great deal in taking this association forward," added Russell.

Russell and Brian Hayes, the CEO of MKM Group - umbrella brand of Wafi Health and Leisure - will be board members of the PAUA Group in Asia.
