Sheikh Ahmed recognised for his contributions in Hong Kong.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai City of Aviation Corporation, has been awarded the Supply Chain Visionary of the Year award in Hong Kong.

The prestigious accolade was announced during this year's Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, which attracted 300 figureheads from the Asian logistics industry.

The winners were selected following an online ballot amongst 12,000 members of Supply Chain Asia, a regional trade association established to promote the development of Asia's supply chain and logistics sector.

"With the imminent opening of Dubai Logistics City (DLC), Sheikh Ahmed was the obvious choice for the Supply Chain Visionary Award," said Turloch Mooney, editorial director of Supply Chain Asia.

"Sheikh Ahmed's vision is the perfect metaphor for the ongoing convergence of supply chain services and infrastructure into an integrated whole, and demonstrates his deep understanding of the forces of globalisation and the role of supply chains as a key determinant to meet challenges and opportunities."

Other winners included Emirates SkyCargo for Air Cargo Carrier of the Year, Agility for Airfreight Forwarder of the Year, Kuehne + Nagel for Seafreight Forwarder of the Year, DHL Exel Supply Chain for Global 3PL of the Year, and FedEx for Express Operator of the Year.
