Organisers of this year's Bahrain Grand Prix are promising to stage an unprecedented number of live entertainment and corporate events in conjunction with this year's racing festival.

Martin Whitaker, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), said: "People have come to expect an unforgettable experience at the Grand Prix and really come away from the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix feeling that it is ‘their race' whether they are from Bahrain, from within the GCC and even from Europe.

We're very proud that there is so much more on offer for the fans each year in terms of entertainment, both on the racetrack and in the public areas, compared to many of the world's other major sporting events.

As previously reported in Sound & Stage, this year's racing carnival will host the largest concert series ever staged in Bahrain, featuring reggae star Sean Paul and French DJ David Guetta.

Organisers have confirmed that the event will also host the inaugural Motor Sport Business Forum Middle East, marking the first time the global networking event has been held outside its traditional home in Monaco. Keynote speaker Ron Dennis, team principal of McLaren-Mercedes, will be joined by delegates representing almost every major sponsor, team, series and business involved with the multi-billion dollar world of motor sport.

"The rapid increase in participation and ownership in the sport from the Middle East and Asia, such as the new Grands Prix in Singapore, Korea and Abu Dhabi, together with the World Rally Championship coming to Jordan, makes the Forum an invaluable tool for [all concerned]," said Whitaker.
