by Lynne Nolan on Wednesday, 12 March 2008

UAE-based multi-brand electronics retailer Plug-ins ElectroniX will open its largest store at The Dubai Mall.

The 38,900ft² anchor store will be located on the second floor of the mall in The Electronics Precinct. It will be the sixth UAE outlet for the popular consumer electronics retailer.

More than 300 of the world's best consumer electronics brands will be showcased, offering customers enormous variety and choice.

"This is a bold move for Plug-ins ElectroniX and one that reflects our firm commitment to increasing the brand's market share in the UAE. We are confident that the store's unique position in this landmark complex will establish new trends in electronics retailing in the region and provide customers with an unrivalled interactive shopping experience," said Vishesh Bhatia, group director - Electronics, Engineering & Technologies, Al-Futtaim Group.

Scheduled to open later this year, the store at The Dubai Mall will feature Plug-ins ElectroniX's contemporary identity and customer-friendly layout, which makes shopping a more pleasurable and interactive experience.

Customers will be able to browse through a wide range of consumer electronics and digital products, mobile telephony, interactive gaming and the extensive IT offering. An extensive range of white goods, kitchenware, home and personal appliances will also be available.

Unique ‘touch and feel' pods organised into six distinct zones will allow customers to handle and trial products prior to purchasing. Tagged according to product category - ‘Talk' for mobiles, ‘Listen' for audio products, ‘Watch' for vision-related products, ‘Live' for home appliances, ‘Play' for gaming, music and DVDs, and ‘Connect' for IT products and digital cameras - the ‘touch and feel' concept has proved enormously popular with customers and has been successfully rolled out throughout all UAE stores.

"The new Plug-ins ElectroniX store will reflect the strength and expertise of the Plug-ins brand and quickly become established as a focal point for electronics enthusiasts in Dubai. The new store gives us the ability and scope to satisfy customers' growing electronics needs and will set new standards in product offering and customer service."

The Dubai Mall is expected to attract more than 30 million visitors within its first year, and will offer more than 1200 retail outlets, two anchor department stores, a 220-store Gold Souk, more than 150 food and beverage outlets, and an array of world-class attractions on a 12.1 million ft² site.
