Water industry bringing opportunities

The increasing focus on water usage in the Middle East is good news for those in the MEP sector. At the Water, Energy Technology & Environment Exhibition (WETEX) held in Dubai last week the scale of the industry was obvious, as were the opportunities.

The increasing demand for mains water and plumbing installations to meet the continued rise in project developments is only one part of the story. The number of new technologies on display that are aimed at water conservation will play a major part in the future of water usage in the region.

With sustainable design now at the top of the agenda, ways to reduce water usage in future buildings has arguably become even more important than the need to increase the desalination capacity to provide a continued supply.

The philosophy of ‘lower use, lower demand' is being applied on all large-scale projects in the region today and central to ensuring the success of such philosophies are the MEP professionals.

While others in the construction industry may have a limited knowledge of these systems, it is only those that are directly responsible day-to-day for their design and installation that can give a true insight into which systems are applicable for a specific project.

By ensuring that their knowledge of the latest techniques and technologies is up to date, MEP professionals can not only ensure the projects on which they are working are completed to the best possible standards, it may also help you win future work.
