We spoke to Spammah, the Quake victor in the first Windows Gaming Championship (in 2006) about which kit he and his gaming pals use to annihilate the competition.
‘Spammah': his creds
Winner: Quake 3 regional final, WGC1 (2006) The Dubai resident is widely regarded by most in-theknow fraggers as the UAE's unofficial main Quake man.
To prove this point he slammed the competition in our first WGC contest - winning not only the UAE leg but our regional final too. In addition, he also made his mark in WGC2, with his Counterstrike Source team narrowly missing out on a UAE final placing.
Spammah's style is brutal - he storms through maps picking opponents off in mid air and removing competitor's heads... a style which in the first round of the first WGC led to him bagging a personal best of 95 Quake 4 kills. What better man than to talking pure performance gaming kit with...
Spammah's mouse of choice
"The Razer DeathAdder mouse rocks. This has been built primarily for gamers; it has an infrared optical sensor, which the firm claims is much better than the conventional optical and laser sensors seen on other mice.
No matter how fast you swipe or flick your cursor, the DeathAdder is always able to keep up, even at the most insane speeds.
The eathAdder is also customisable in many ways, which is perfect for any sort of gamer. And lastly, the mouse uses a rubber coating all over its body, which gives you an amazingly firm grip."
Mice: "The most popular gamingmice are the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and the Logitech MX518. Besides these, the Razer DeathAdder another upcoming and popular mouse amongst gamers. Other mice that come close to these are Razer Krait, Logitech G5, Logitech G9, and the SteelSeries Ikari Optical/Laser."
Keyboards: The Razer Tarantula, Microsoft Reclusa, SteelSeries 6G, SteelSeries 7G, Logitech G11, Logitech G15.
Mousepads: SteelSeries QcK+ and QcK Heavy Cloth, SteelSeries SX aluminium, Razer Mantis Control/ Speed Cloth, Everglide Fnatic Titan, QPAD Rubber.
Headphones: SteelSeries 5Hv2, SteelSeries Siberia Neckband, Sennheiser PC150, Sennheiser HD555 and Icemat Siberia headphones. Hit www.itp.net/wgc for details of this year's Windows Gaming Championship.
