LINK Development opens Italy office to target Europe

by Mark Sutton on Wednesday, 26 March 2008
Hanan Abdel Meguid, CEO of LINK Development

LINK Development has announced the opening of its first office in Italy, to target customers in Europe. The software developer, a subsidiary of LINKdotNET, is one of the first in the region to launch in Europe, and comes amid growing interest in the Egyptian IT industry as an offshoring/outsourcing provider.

The company has already completed large offshore development projects for customers in Greece and Italy, and the new sales office in Rome is intended to build on that, according to Hanan Abdel Meguid, CEO of LINK Development.

"We are now moving Europe to a higher position on our radar screen, to meet growing demand from companies who recognise the advantages of working with Egyptian companies and their talent pool. The strong track record and the international recognition our work has received through awards and certifications gives us the confidence to plan for similar success in Europe," she said.

LINK Development specializes in e-solutions, in particular portals and intranets, e-commerce, helpdesk, unified communications and IPTV, along with Microsoft CRM implementations.

European companies are showing more interest in Egypt as an offshore provider, said Abdel Meguid, as the country is both closer to Europe meaning less time difference and also has strong base of English and French speakers for easier communications. Investment in IT education also gives Egypt a growing talent pool to draw from.

"With IT becoming a booming industry in the country, Egypt is able to offer a broadbase of professionals skilled in software development with international certifications. With the company's large resources, breadth of scope and strength of expertise and skills, I believe LINK Development is very well placed to succeed in this market," she said.
