An American airline has launched five international websites using the Amadeus e-Commerce Airline Suite.

The technology has enabled US Airways to launch online booking engines in Spanish, German, French and English, all of which have full calendar and shopping facilities. Whilst the regional pages can manage their own fares, method of payment and special offers, the airline maintains control of branding, website strategy and positioning.

Amadeus has 23 languages available and the US Airways' sites were deployed in just a few months. Additional websites for the airline, which will be up and running soon, will serve Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Travis Christ, vice president, sales and marketing for US Airways, said: "The Amadeus e-Commerce Airline Suite provides the technology we need to deliver and support the expansion of US Airways' international web presence." He added: "Amadeus' extensive knowledge and experience in this area, including working in multiple languages, currencies and payment types, provided a tremendous advantage."

Philippe der Arslanian, global director, Airline Direct Channel for Amadeus' Airline Business Group, said: "I am confident that US Airways will be able to increase its international conversion rates and increase its global yield while serving the ever-increasing needs of their customers."
